Micah 7:18a
“Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives our transgressions.”

Father, every day we are tested by temptation and trespass which are the winds that separate the seed from the chaff, only his Word and our faith allow us to settle on the ground and not be blown away. Keep on the ground Lord.

Monday, August 18

Micah 7:18b
“You don’t stay angry forever but delight to show mercy.”

My anger over being shut out was tempered by the fact that through grace and true faith in you, my anger would be turned into a feeling of compassion towards others. I prayed for them and tried to hold a high concern for their well being and strong concern for their church.

Father, thank you for all things given and please be hard on me, for at times my stiff neckedness returns and I become judgmental towards others. That causes pain and hard feelings. Thank you!

Tuesday, August 19

Micah 7:19
“You will again have compassion on us: You will tread our sins underfoot.”

Poking ones nose into some ones business, or having hard words with your neighbor, forgetting to render words of goodness, yet you allow me to stand in your house with that person(s) and offer me redemption of my sins.

Lord, how can we say thanks except by being faithful to your laws and Word, You ask “who can I send to tell of my Word,” and I say “send me!” Amen

Micah 7:19c
“You will hurl all our iniquities in the depth of the sea.”

Remembering the old man’s tale that ‘you have till your last breath to accept the Lord as your Savior thus gaining life forever.’ That might be true but, what about all the hours and days that you remained out of sorts with yourself and others? The warm feeling you have knowing Christ will not throw you away nor hold you fast to your sins – if you accept or have accepted him as your savior.

Pray the Our Father.

Micah 7:20a
“You will be true to Jacob, and show mercy to Abraham.”

As you have been told the story about the shepherd who looks for the one lost Lamb needed to keep his flock whole, we too must be shepherds of our church and gather those who once knew the Lord and have left and those who seek him. Tell them about what could happen if the laws are not kept and we live in a life of injustice.

Lord, the love shown and the leadership allowed us is great. Grant us the strength to bring others to you through justification of spirit and body. Amen.

Friday, August 22

Micah 7:20b
“As you pledged an oath to our fathers in days long ago.”

Today as I sat through a service, a memorial of a dear friend, the words spoken about life and the ever after with Christ were born out in the reading of the Gospel, 1 Corinthians 10:31, so whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. This man who lived life as God would have us, full of life, full of spirit and happy at the table, either God’s or his own. He told of his sins in daily living and never slighted his God by confessing them. Repent while the memory is still fresh and alive in the laws of the Lord. His promises will be there.

Lord cause me to remember to serve you first and walk in your ways always. Amen.

Genesis 2:7
“The Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground and
breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living thing.”

You are never bigger or better than the ground you walk upon, for we shall return to our basic beginning, and to the earth we shall return. We will be judged upon the final day when Christ comes to call all to rise into heaven with Him. Make your time count here on earth, and ask all to come and accept the Lord as your personal Savior.

Dear God, each of us do things differently, hopefully the end result becomes the same. I pray for some relief from the civil pressure of the church, it’s been over a year and still we (you and I) must deal with the questions or remarks asked about why. Give me the strength to remain strong and answer them. Thank you.
