First Commandment
“Thou shall have no other gods before me”

The first commandment means to believe in only one God. To have one God that you worship. To have not two but one God.

God help those who don’t believe in you to believe in you. Amen

First Commandment
“Thou shall have no other gods before me”

I believe that this commandment is very important because if people worship money or highly prized items, which most persons do, it would get them off track, they would not care about their belief or who God is. Although most people don’t follow this law it is still important that we have it.

Dear Lord, thank you for these divine and well thought out laws and forgive anyone who betrays them. Amen.

First Commandment
You shall have no other Gods.

To me this means you should worship God alone and not focus on material things or idols, just worship God and do not get distracted by anything else.

Dear Lord I pray that you continue to guide me through my life and be a better person and help me to worship you and not material things that might distract me. Amen

Second Commandment
You shall not make wrongful use of the name of the Lord your God.

To me this commandment means that you should not say the Lord's name in a negative way. God watches and listens to everything you do or say. So you have to be careful of what you do. This commandment doesn't mean that if you accidently say His name in a negative way that you are going to hell. The Lord forgives all your sins so all you have to do is ask for forgiveness and He will forgive you.

Dear Lord help me to not use your name in a negative way. Amen

Third Commandment
Remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy.

We are to trust and love God and keep His preachings fresh. We are to speak well of Him and do not put Him down. We are to try and follow the lessons and keep His day Holy.

Dear Lord help us to keep you days holy and follow the words you have taught us.

Fourth Commandment
Honor your father and your mother.

This is very important as without your parents you are lost. They guide you and help you go through life. Parents deserve respect and love although they don't always get it. Almost everything they do is for the children and they work very hard. Honoring them means exactly what it entails – respect, love and listening to them. They are looking out for our best interests.

Dear God, Please help me to see the bigger picture in why my parents do what they do. Please help me love them and listen to them. Thank you for my family and everything that has been provided for me. Amen.

Fifth Commandment
You shall not murder.

It is not up to man to judge who dies and who lives. We are not to harm anyone in a physical way. You should not walk away from the Lord. God will punish you seven-fold. He will put a mark on you. You should be caring and helpful towards your neighbors.(Genesis 4:1-16)

Dear Lord please help me to not hurt anyone by physical means or by slandering words. Amen.
